Calendar of Events
November 2nd to December 7th  
Christmas Basket applications made available at area public schools, churches,
and United Samaritan Foundation,
2413 3rd St., during regular business hours.

Monday through Friday, December 14th to the 18th
Preparation of baskets at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hughes Hall,
Corner of Fox and Euclid in Hughson.
9 am to 9pm
Saturday, December 19th
Christmas Basket deliveries
9 am to 12 noon

2008 Christmas Basket Project 
Every year the community comes together with hundreds of volunteers and donors to provide Christmas for the less fortunate. In 2008 the need was great and 415 families were provided food and gifts for their children.

To accomplish this huge task the planning began in August with community meetings. Committees were formed from the volunteers. Suppliers were contacted. Donor letters were readied and mailed for donation of cash and commodities for the baskets.
              
 
St Anthony’s Catholic Church graciously donates Hughes Hall to organize all the items. Tables are set up with hundreds of boxes as volunteers coordinate recipient’s names as to size of families and age of children.

Toys are gathered and organized to facilitate matching gender and age. Several organization and individuals also donated bicycles.

All is readied to deliver the Saturday before Christmas. Volunteers with pickup trucks arrive that morning and deliver to homes of the family in need.
