Spirit of Hope Award
Lorraine Cunningham is our 2009 award recipient.  Lorraine has demonstrated her leadership as a founding Board Member in 2004 and has served as Board Chair since July 2008.  She has been involved in child abuse prevention causes in Stanislaus County since 1992 serving on the founding board of Parent Resource Center, a child abuse prevention organization in West Modesto.  Lorraine has years of service in our Hughson community promoting education, health and well being for all.  Recently, Lorraine has become a cancer survivor and during her illness has never waivered from providing leadership and financial support to the Center.  She continues to serve with a smile, giving her gift of volunteerism to the community, always with a Spirit of Hope.
Philanthopist of Hope Award

The Bright Family Foundation is our 2009 award recipient.  The Bright Family Foundation has sponsored programs such as the Nature series on KVIE, medical internships at the UC Medical Center, Hospice, the Children's Crisis Center and higher education scholarships for high school students.  Since 2004, Calvin Bright and his family have financially ensured that our Center's vital child abuse prevention programs are available to families of Southeast Stanislaus.  They have supported the establishment of a volunteer program including our Hughson Youth Council to encourage others to take leadership roles toward community involvement.  The Bright Family Foundation has truly made the future brighter for many children and families.

Community Partnership of Hope Award

Carranza Pharmacy is our 2009 award recipient.  Jose Carranza is a health advocate for those less fortunate.  His pharmacy supplies local doctors with prescription medication for the uninsured.  Ericka Carranza hosted a health fair in Hughson for the last few years and this year partnered with the Center to expand the fair to include a Children's festival promoting child health in our community.  Carranza Pharmacy contributes to local youth groups and provides low cost flu shots and sports physicals.  They provide free bilingual Diabetic Education classes twice a month at each location.  They serve on medical missions overseas.  The Carranza family, by their example, truly encourages a philanthropic attitude, volunteerism, and a love of mankind.
